LSD microdosing (sub-perceptual doses) produces measurable cognitive benefits

Unresolved recorded as “Contested” LSD: My Problem Child

The microdosing literature is genuinely mixed. Szigeti et al. (eLife, 2021): a self-blinded RCT found microdosing produced expected effects (reduced depression, anxiety) in the open label phase, but also in the placebo phase. Active vs placebo difference: not significant. Anderson et al. (Psychopharmacology, 2019): observational study found positive self-reported effects. Most microdosing research has methodological problems (expectancy effects, self-selection). The claim is not confirmed and not refuted.
