What is the safety profile of classical psychedelics? safety | No established physiological lethal dose for LSD, psilocybin, DMT, or mescaline. No physical dependence. Rapid tolerance (cross-tolerance between 5-HT2A agonists) prevents consecutive-day use. HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder): rare, mechanism unclear, usually mild. NBOMe compounds are NOT classical psychedelics, they are full agonists with cardiovascular toxicity and have caused deaths. Do not conflate.
